Hobbies
Outside of engineering, I enjoy a variety of hobbies, including skiing, bouldering, and the occasional board game or video game. I’ve been skiing since I was 6 years old and have enjoyed every run. Having completed many resort trails, I’m now trying to tackle glades and hopefully do some backcountry skiing soon. The adrenaline of skiing down a slope while calculating your turns is a fun experience and if you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend you do. In April 2023, I started bouldering with co-workers and have stuck with my membership. Every bouldering project is a fun puzzle that also helps you improve your physical strength and mobility. The highest grade I’ve done is a V6, but right now, I am hard stuck in the V4-V5 range since I am trying to rebuild my strength after a shoulder injury. Hopefully, I can post some progress on this page by the Summer of 2025. During the days when I am physically exhausted and need a break from work, I typically hop on calls with friends, and we play some multiplayer video games like Marvel Rivals or Overwatch. If they aren’t online, I’ll run a single-player game like some engineering-themed Minecraft mod pack or, most recently, The Witcher III.
Skiing is The Best Sport in The World
Right now, I can handle any New England resort trail, but I can’t yet handle glades and back-country skiing. This season I am going to track my statistics and have two goals in mind: to beat my top speed and go through a full glade run without needing to stop
Last season, I skied a total of 99 runs, 159.5 miles, 156 thousand vertical feet, and a top speed of 51.3 MPH. The resorts I went to were Stowe Mountain, Wildcat, Mount Snow, Okemo, and Wachusett Mountain (a local classic).
December 6th - 7th, 2024 - Stowe Mountain Resort
This was my first run of the season, and since it was before the holidays, there, luckily, there weren’t a ton of people. My friend and I went through some glades and found some unpacked, powdery tails. I noticed my legs need some warming up to do since they were cramping up, so I’ll have to incorporate more leg exercises throughout the next few weeks.
Total Runs: 19 runs
Total Distance: 42 miles
Total Vertical: 39,000 ft.
Top speed: 39.1 MPH
